The Lab is approaching 2026 a bit differently. We want you to channel your inner David Attenborough (Captain Attenborough – for anyone without a name yet?). Sir David is the King of Observations and you can be too! Get curious. Observe the world around you and share what you see. We don’t need solutions at this stage, just tell us what’s happening in your ecosystem.

We've had a thought rolling around in the Lab:

“I wonder why ALL families aren’t hearing about the SER.”​

 

Have you ever wondered the same thing? If so, we want your expert experience and real-world observations to help us investigate.

Maybe you’ve heard something like:

​

“We didn’t know this was here! We’ve been in hospital for two weeks and we’re going home today. We wish we’d known!”

​

Or maybe you’ve met a family on the ward in dire need of the SER but had no idea it existed, even after a few days, and with siblings in tow!

We want Captains to surface those real-world missed opportunities. These are the things you’ve seen that stop families from finding their way to the Starlight Express Room.

Importantly, we’re not asking you to fix this… yet! Think of this stage as the ‘Who. What. Why. Where. When.’ The ‘How’ will come later and we’ll come back to you for your solutions. For now, we just want your observations, your stories, and your curiosity!
